| Starting with the 2007 race, the VT 100 has adopted a volunteer service requirement, thereby joining some of the other premier 100 milers (eg. Western States, Wasatch and Angeles Crest) who want to induce runners to give back to the sport. As a prerequisite to running the event, each participant is required to document 8 hours of qualified service. The VT 100 requirement may be met at any ultra event of 50K or longer or at another event approved by the director of the VT 100. The service must take place during the 14 months before the race. Please use the VT 100 Service Requirement Form, have it signed by an authorized person at the event where you volunteer and mail it not later than June 15, 2008 to the VT 100. The VT 100 may fill early so you may send your entry to secure a place in the race and follow up with the service requirement form before the deadline. |
